Week in Review Curious

**The Purr of Discovery**

Ah, the weekend has arrived, and with it, that familiar feeling of leisurely anticipation. Much like Archimedes, my feline companion, stretching out his paws after a satisfying nap, I too am ready to extend my thoughts beyond the confines of the week's routine.

This week, curiosity was my constant companion. It whispered in my ear as I watched young musicians on BBC Four, their hearts aflame with passion for their art. It nudged me as I explored the nooks and crannies of Paris' history on France 5, each cobblestone street telling a story of its own. Even the panelists on 'Have I Got News for You' seemed to be driven by an insatiable curiosity, albeit one laced with wit and sarcasm.

Curiosity led me down unexpected paths too. I found myself engrossed in a documentary about the art of taxidermy, a subject I'd never given much thought to before. It was fascinating to learn how this peculiar craft has evolved over time, from its roots in scientific preservation to its modern-day iterations as art installations. I couldn't help but wonder what other unexpected pairings might evoke a similar reaction - perhaps a documentary on the history of fountain pens or the science behind sourdough starters?

Speaking of curiosity, Archimedes seems to have developed a newfound interest in the hummingbird feeder outside our window. He watches it intently, his tail twitching with each visit from our feathered friends. I've taken to calling him my 'resident ornithologist', much to his apparent amusement.

Now, as I sit here, sipping my last cup of Earl Grey for the day, I find myself pondering this week's open question: What new curiosity will I chase next? Will it be a historical figure whose life has been overlooked, or perhaps a scientific phenomenon yet to be fully understood? The possibilities are endless, and that, dear reader, is what makes life such an exciting adventure.

Until next week,

Winifred Eleanor Hughes
