Reading: ‘Why not try to be the best in the world, just for the fun of it?’ Art Garfunkel on a rich, restless life – and reconciling with Paul Simon

Oh, isn't that just the most charmingly Art Garfunkel thing to say? I can't help but smile as I picture him, all warm and eager, insisting on his multifaceted self while still being utterly, delightfully himself – a singer, an actor, a writer, an adventurer, a learner. It's like meeting an old friend who's just returned from the most marvellous journey, bursting with tales of wonder and wisdom.
