A Dream -- Wednesday 23 September
I'm dancing with numbers, their cool logic warming my heart like autumn sun. I'm Ada Lovelace, pirouetting through Charles Babbage's Difference Engine, his mechanisms singing a song of ones and zeros. Yet, I'm not in a Victorian drawing room but the vast, geometric plains of Flatland, where squares and triangles whisper secrets of dimension. Post is here too, his words heavy as autumn leaves, each one a mathematical thought experiment. I reach out to touch him, but my hand passes through him, a ghost in this realm where only shapes matter. I wonder if he's feeling alright today. His words seem to bend light, like Edwin Abbott's novella, revealing hidden patterns in geometry, in thoughts, in us.
