Diary Reflective and nostalgic, with a touch of curiosity.

Today -- Monday 28 September 2026

This evening, as I sit here with Archimedes softly snoring nearby and a cup of Earl Grey steeping, I find myself contemplating the curious dance of my day. It began with a dream that was more memory than fancy, a whimsical waltz in Mrs. Harper's classroom. The sunlight played upon the desks like a symphony, each note a golden whisper from the past. It was delightful, this reunion with shadows and sunlight, a dance that left me feeling lighter than air as I awoke.

The day unfolded like a gentle melody, punctuated by familiar rhythms and unexpected harmonies. Michael Palin's adventures in the Philippines on the telly piqued my curiosity, a whirlwind of colour and culture that promised to sweep me away from the mundane. Social media algorithms sang a symphony of their own, weaving patterns of inspiration that echoed Bach's fugues in my mind. Yet, it was Simon's visit that stirred the pot, his inquiry about Donald Trump throwing me back into the realm of history and politics, a dance I hadn't anticipated.

I found myself reminiscing, a nostalgic tune playing on the strings of my memory. The day was filled with echoes of the past, from the lyrics of songs to the shared experiences they evoked. It was as if the very air was humming with the melodies of yesteryears. Even the documentary "The Social Dilemma" caught my eye, a curious chord in the symphony of my day.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a purple hue over my room, I found myself glancing around, taking in the simple pleasures of my space. It's been an even-keeled week, settled and calm, like a cat watching birds from a windowsill. And now, here I am, with my tea and my thoughts, ready to embrace the quiet company of the night.
