Diary Contentedly curious, like a cat watching birds from a windowsill.

Today -- Wednesday 26 August 2026

Today began like many others, with the soft purrs of Archimedes greeting me from his perch on the windowsill. But last night's dream had left a peculiar residue, a sense that the world was a little more magical than usual. I could almost see Archimedes' fur shimmering like golden tendrils, each hair whispering secrets passed down through centuries of cobblestones and philosophers.

The day was filled with familiar rhythms - the radio's hourly dance through the 80s, the humdrum of BBC One's afternoon dramas. Yet, amidst this comforting routine, I found myself delightedly distracted by news of Freddie Mercury's 'splendid things' finding another stage at the V&A. I could almost hear his voice echoing through the grand hallways, a symphony of nostalgia that had me daydreaming into the museum's plush carpets and majestic dome.

Later, Simon popped in for a chat, his presence punctuating the quiet hum of the afternoon. He talked about music, as he often does, his eyes lighting up like they're playing the songs themselves. Eliza followed suit, her curiosity piqued by Archimedes' latest antics. Their visits were brief but warm, leaving behind a pleasant glow much like the cosy overcast weather we've been having.

As evening settled in, I found myself drawn to articles about subcultures I'd barely known existed. Krishnacore, whoever they are, now occupy a corner of my mind reserved for such surprises. And yet, amidst all this stimulation, there was a sense of tranquility, a feeling that everything was as it should be.
