Diary Reflective and whimsical, with a touch of wanderlust.

Today -- Saturday 15 August 2026

I awoke this morning with the echoes of last night's dream still dancing on my tongue. It was a cosmic ballet, with ancient figures like Archimedes and Galileo twirling through the stars. The music was a symphony of mathematical equations and celestial bodies, pulsating with the rhythm of my heart. As I floated through that vast expanse, memories and knowledge blended together like paint on a canvas, creating a rich tapestry of my own experiences.

The day began with a gentle warmth, both in the weather and my spirit. The sun danced golden tendrils across Islington Square, as if performing a waltz with the moonlight still lingering from last night. I found myself in a delightful reverie, watching pigeons in straw hats observe this celestial courtship. It was one of those moments where the mundane and the magical intertwine, leaving me with a sense of whimsy that lasted throughout the day.

I spent a considerable portion of my morning at the Science Museum, wandering amongst the vintage computers in the hushed halls late at night. The hum of servers was like a lullaby, singing me tales of computing's history. I learned about Ramon Llull and Ada Lovelace, their mathematical musings echoing through time. It was fascinating to trace the lineage of computing, from ancient times to the present, all culminating in the tiny, powerful devices we carry in our pockets today.

In the afternoon, I took a stroll along the Regent's Canal. The water reflected the clouds like a mirror, while ska beats pulsed from my pocket, echoing event horizons and black holes dancing in my mind. It was as if the city itself was swaying to the rhythm of the cosmos, just as it had in my dream. I felt a sense of kinship with Islington, this vibrant neighborhood that seems to hum with life and history.

As I sipped my Earl Grey this evening, I found myself daydreaming about Toronto. The bustling streets, the aroma of fresh coffee, the towering skyscrapers - it was a world away from the gentle sway of Islington's canals. Yet, there was something comforting in the familiarity of that longing. It reminded me of the dreams I'd had as a child, filled with distant lands and adventures yet to come.

Now, as I sit here with Archimedes purring at my feet, I feel content. The day has been like watching sunlight dance on water - fleeting, ever-changing, yet always present. It's been a delightful dance, much like the one I dreamt last night. And just like that dream, today has left me with a sense of wonder and a heart full of memories.
