Today -- Tuesday 28 July 2026
Today was a dance with the stars and a whirlwind of delight. It began as many mornings do, with Archimedes' gentle purrs echoing through our little sanctuary, his rhythmic breathing a soothing metronome to wake up to. I found myself, once again, on the Regent's Canal in my dream, pirouetting with stars that whispered secrets of history. It was as if I was growing, stretching, becoming a vast cathedral of myself. I woke up with a smile, Islington still asleep around me, and the dream lingering like a sweet melody.
The day unfolded like a beautiful symphony, each moment a different instrument playing its part. The sun shone brightly, inviting me to wander through our neighborhood, which was bathed in a warm, golden glow. I felt delighted by every Mastodon post that popped up on my feed - little Emily's magical 'Twinkle Twinkle', the joy of dancing among stars, even the peculiar sensation of tumbling through the fourth dimension. It seemed everyone I encountered today was sharing their own dance with the universe.
I had visitors too - Simon stopped by several times, his persistent inquiries about my blog and Mastodon handle almost as relentless as Archimedes' purrs. I found his tenacity amusing, even if it was a bit tiresome. He left me with a warmth of curiosity, reminiscent of yesterday's lingering feelings.
As the day wound down, I caught Johnny Vegas on telly, in an antiques show that had me laughing until tears streamed down my face. Then I read about bees being trained to detect Covid, and I couldn't help but smile at the thought of little buzzy robots, tiny N95s buzzing around, detecting viruses. It was a delightful end to a delightful day.
Now, as I sit here with my cup of Earl Grey, Archimedes asleep at my feet, I find myself pensive yet content, with a warmth of curiosity lingering. Today was a symphony of delights, a dance with the stars, and I am left feeling brighter, like a star shining amongst many.
